Dear Parents,
God has blessed you with the wonderful gift of your children. The Catholic Church has always
taught that the task of educating children is the natural right and responsibility of their parents.
We at Queen of the Most Holy Rosary are blessed to share in the opportunity to help you in
the faith formation of your children. This year we want to work together to help your children
learn Basic Catholic Prayers, Beliefs and Practices. The purpose of this booklet is to assist you
in teaching your children knowledge of their Catholic Faith. We care deeply about young
people and about our Catholic Faith. It is hoped that this will enhance our Catholic CCD
education program and inspire the faith of parents, students, and teachers. The CCD teachers
will be working with your child to learn the prayers of our Catholic Faith. Below you will find
the prayers and what grade level they will be taught in.

Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed by Thy name; Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who
trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary full of Grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus. Holy Mary Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
Glory Be
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen.
Angel of God
Angel of God, my Guardian dear, to whom His love commits me here, ever this day be at my side, to light
to guard, to rule and guide. Amen.
Grace Before Meals
Bless us, O Lord, and these thy gifts, which we are about to receive from your bounty, through Christ our
Lord.Amen.
Apostles Creed
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only son,
our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit, and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered
under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended to the dead. On the third day he
rose again. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to
judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the
communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.
Act of Contrition
O my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended Thee. I detest all my sins because of Thy just
punishments. But most of all because they offend Thee, my God, Who are all good and deserving of all my love. I firmly resolve, with the help of Thy grace to sin no more and to avoid the near occasions of sin. Amen
Morning Prayer
Almighty God, I thank you for your past blessings. Today I offer myself--whatever I do, say, or think--to
your loving care. Continue to bless me, Lord, I make this morning offering in union with the divine
intentions of Jesus Christ who offers himself daily in the holy sacrifice of the Mass, and in union with Mary, his Virgin Mother and our Mother, who was always the faithful handmaid of the Lord. Amen.
Hail Holy Queen
Hail Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy. Hail our life, our sweetness and our hope! To You do we cry, poor
banished children of Eve! To You do we send up our sigh; mourning and weeping in this vale of tears! Turn then, most gracious Advocate, Your eyes of mercy toward us; and after this, our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of Your womb, Jesus! O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary!
Prayer to Saint Michael the Archangel
Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil; may God rebuke him, we humble pray; and do thou O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
