Underneath the dome of Saint Peter's Basilica in Rome, it was thought, was the actual burial place and bones of Saint Peter, the first pope. But the exact location had been lost. The Vatican undertook secretive (for good reasons, as the book explains) excavations underneath the basilica at several points in recent history. The most recent search was successful. This book details the surprisingly complex and fascinating story of how that search unfolded. And the story is inspiring for us Catholics, reminding us that our Church really is built upon the Apostolic Faith. It's a fast, interesting, and excellent read. If any of our parishioners would like to borrow the book, I can check it out to you. Or, the book may be found on Amazon by clicking the image to the left. -Fr. Jason
